JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced food preparation setting
  • Running a commercial dish washing machine
  • Washing china, glassware, stemware, silverware
  • Scrubbing pots and pans
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station and environment, and being constantly aware that the public's good health has been entrusted to you
  • Replenishing supplies and chemicals
  • Deep cleaning equipment and kitchen space to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness including running a commercial dish machine, scrubbing pots and pans, scouring equipment, wiping walls and surfaces, scrubbing and mopping floors, sanitizing everything in sight and taking pride in working in the cleanest kitchen in the county
  • Assisting line cooks and chefs by retrieving ingredients and dishes and replenishing line components as needed.
  • Performing basic food prep tasks: ie cutting vegetables, grating cheese, etc
  • Sweeping, mopping and squeeging tile floors on a nightly basis
  • Emptying garbage and cleaning garbage cans
  • Working hard and having fun
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be vaccinated against CoviD-19, or will be fully vaccinated prior to beginning employment
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be working towards a high school diploma or GED or have graduated from high school or have a GED
  • Must have no felony convictions
  • Must be willing to submit to and able to pass a drug-screening test prior to employment if requested and after hiring if determined to be necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation or a reliable ride to work
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Must be able to bend from the waist for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to reach above your head continuously and lift heavy items above your head
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb. boxes
  • Must be able to withstand high temperature water and chemical exposure to your skin, particularly on hands and fore arms
  • Must be willing to get wet and remain wet for an 8 hour shift
  • Must be able to work alone with little direction to complete nightly tasks
  • Must have a drive and desire to finish the days work and go home
  • Must take pride in simple and menial tasks and perform them flawlessly
  • Must understand that even a seemingly thankless job is one of the most critical tasks in the restaurant kitchen
TRAINING & COMPENSATION
  • This is an entry-level position to learn to work in our kitchen brigade.
  • You have the potential to be trained on every position on the line as you grow in your kitchen-assistant expertise
  • You will learn at your own pace, and your compensation will be based on your skill level and the positions that you have mastered.
  • Our compensation rate is from $8 per hour to $10 per hour
  • If you are new to kitchen work with no experience, you will begin your training at $8 per hour. When you are capable of working the dish station solo your pay will increase to $9 per hour
  • Upon meeting the head chefs requirements as a kitchen assistant you will be increased to $10 per hour
TRAINING PROGRESSION
  • Training on first dish position: $9.00. First raise given when you are able to work that station solo on any shift.
  • Solo dishwasher $9.00
  • Kitchen-Assistant $10
  • Garde-Manger (Pantry) $11.00
  • Sauté $12.00+
  • Grill / Expo $13.00+
  • Prep / Kitchen Lead $14.00+
